Inspiring Leadership

I am currently preparing materials for a leadership workshop. This is taking folks who may have never saw themselves in a leadership role and helping them to understand how to take a project to success. The first step is to be able to share the vision of a project or assignment. This requires understanding of the vision and goals of the organization and being able to enthusiastically communicate these ideas in the context of your project.

There are many practical operational pieces that are common to all projects that must be performed but the most commonly missed piece is that of inspiring those who are working with you to complete the tasks assigned and see how it fits into the big picture.

Today’s employee is looking for meaning and satisfaction not just a paycheck. As a leader never underestimate those to whom you seek to lead. If they are not inspired with the big picture they may complete the project but never understand the value.
